Russian Olympian Ksenia Semyonova was the top qualifier Thursday as the 2009 European Championships began in Milan - In the women's all-around qualification, Semyonova scored 57.625 with scores ranging from 14.325 on vault to 14.475 on balance beam. Semyonova, the reigning world and European uneven bars champion, broke on her best event (14.425) but just managed to qualify to the final by placing eighth. She qualified third to the final on balance beam, where she is also the defending champion, and fourth to the final on floor exercise (14.400).
